Things got quite testy between the Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards on Friday during Game 3 of the first round, particularly between Nene Hilario and Jimmy Butler.
After converting a basket early in the fourth quarter, Nene gave Butler a bit of a shove in the back – something Butler wasn’t having any of. From there, things got completely out of control, as the two collided heads together:
Someone may want to tell Nene, who comes from a country (Brazil) known for great knowledge in MMA, that you cannot put a player in a Muay Thai clinch during a basketball game. That will get you kicked out of a game every time, and he did, in fact, get ejected for the excessive force against an unsuspecting Butler, who remained in the game and played a huge role in helping the Bulls beat the Wizards 100-97.
Hopefully for the Wizards, Nene – who had a tough night shooting just five-of-15 from the field – won’t be suspended for his uncalled-for grappling move by the league. He has played a crucial role in helping his team get out to a surprising 2-0 lead before Friday, and he will be needed if the Wizards want to move past the first round.
Jordan Crawford of the Golden State Warriors saw the play and had this to say:
NeNe wanted to rip his head off or nah? Dude crazy
