The second round of the 2014 NBA Playoffs opened up in surprising, yet somehow reminiscent fashion. Road teams continued to get the best of their home counterparts, but the outcomes were far more lopsided than anyone expected to see.

Here’s everything that you need to know about the opening day of the Conference Semifinals.

1. All five starters scored in double-figures and reserve Drew Gooden posted 12 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Washington Wizards to a 102-96 upset of the Indiana Pacers. Bradley Beal scored a game-high 25 points and Trevor Ariza finished with 22 on a perfect mark of 6-of-6 from beyond the arc.

Ariza joins Robert Horry (7) and Peja Stojakovic (6) as the only players in NBA history to make at least six 3-pointers without a single miss in a playoff game.

2. The Wizards improve to 4-0 on the road during the 2014 Playoffs. In its previous 20 seasons, Washington had gone 4-23 during road postseason games.

3. This was Washington’s first road win over Indiana since April 18, 2007.

4. Chris Paul went off for 32 points and 10 assists to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to a 122-105 demolition of the Oklahoma City Thunder. It was a dominant road performance by the Clippers, which committed just eight turnovers to 17 by the home team Thunder.

Paul was efficient in his dominance, converting 12-of-14 from the floor and 8-of-9 from beyond the arc. The eight 3-point field goals set a new career-high.

5. CP3 is the first player to post at least 30 points and 10 assists on better than 75.0 percent shooting in a playoff game since Michael Jordan in 1991.
