Eight law firms have reportedly turned down Donald Sterling as he prepares to take the NBA to court over his banishment.
Meanwhile, his wife is filing for divorce … and she believes she has a right to take over sole ownership of the Clippers. (The NBA says she is misinformed).
Also, Sterling issued an apology of sorts in an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, and he begged for forgiveness.

Yes, Mr. Sterling is not prepared to go down without a fight, and it looks like he’ll be fighting battles on multiple fronts. The story that keeps on giving is going to languish for a long, long time if Sterling keeps heading down the road he is on, and you can either consider that a shame, or a part of an unprecedented process. Whatever the case, don’t hold your breath waiting for a resolution.

“Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling says he’s sorry but feels he was “baited” to make racist comments, nearly two weeks after the NBA fined him and banned him for life for his remarks in a recorded conversation. “When I listen to that tape, I don’t even know how I can say words like that. … I don’t know why the girl had me say those things,” he told CNN’s Anderson Cooper in an exclusive interview set to air on Monday. “You’re saying you were set up?” Cooper asked. “Well yes, I was baited,” Sterling said. “I mean, that’s not the way I talk. I don’t talk about people for one thing, ever. I talk about ideas and other things. I don’t talk about people.” Sterling, an 80-year-old married lawyer and billionaire real-estate investor, hasn’t spoken publicly about the accusations since celebrity gossip website TMZ posted a 10-minute audio recording of him that drew widespread condemnation from fans, players and the league. In that audio clip, Sterling chastised friend V. Stiviano for posting pictures online of her posing with African-Americans, including basketball Hall of Famer Earvin “Magic” Johnson. The recording triggered a firestorm that led to Sterling’s lifetime ban from the NBA and a $2.5 million fine. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has asked the other 29 owners to force Sterling, the longest-tenured owner in the league, to sell the Clippers. “I’m not a racist,” Sterling told Cooper. “I made a terrible, terrible mistake. And I’m here with you today to apologize and to ask for forgiveness for all the people that I’ve hurt.” Asked by Cooper why he took so long to say he’s sorry, Sterling said he was “emotionally distraught.” “The reason it’s hard for me, very hard for me, is that I’m wrong. I caused the problem. I don’t know how to correct it,” he said. Sterling said he doesn’t want his comments to eclipse his lengthy tenure with the NBA.”I’m a good member who made a mistake and I’m apologizing and I’m asking for forgiveness,” he said. “Am I entitled to one mistake, am I after 35 years? I mean, I love my league, I love my partners. Am I entitled to one mistake? It’s a terrible mistake, and I’ll never do it again.” Now, Sterling said, his fate is in the league’s hands. “If the owners feel I have another chance, then they’ll give it to me,” he said.

The Liberal Media is stacked against Sterling, as they continue to interview people who keep insisting that Sterling is a Racist, when clearly there is something else going on here, involving Donald being jealous of Stiviano seeing attractive black men.
The problem is that the people that really count are the broad general public (who buy the tickets) and the Owners, who have the power to refuse to throw out Sterling at this time.
As of last week the only CNN poll that I’ve scene had 50-49 against taking Ownership away from Sterling. I would safely expect that among Whites (they didn’t break it down), there would have been close to 70-30 against. However, as more comes out about Stiviano (who may have collaborated with Magic) trying to BAIT Sterling into saying things he normally wouldn’t, the support AGAINST owners taking away ownership should be growing.
Perhaps Sterling is behind it, but JT the Brick reported Saturday night, that there is word from the LA DA’s office that Magic is under investigation for possibly doing this to try to get ownership of the Clippers. I wouldn’t rule it out, because with every criminal investigation, you have to have motive. There has been no plausible motive so far as to why Stiviano ratted out Sterling, who helped her so much. The $100+ thousand that Stiviano’s friend received for selling original tape to TMZ is small fries compared to how much V. has benefited (she could now lose her adopted children from Child Services.)
Bottom line is with all this mystery, there isn’t a chance in Hell that Owners are going to turn against another owner, at this time. It would set a very bad precedence that Players can control which owners they want thrown out of league.
With owners refusing to vote against Sterling, at this time, there will be an opportunity for a compromise – such as allowing a Senile Old Man to transfer his ownership to Shelly – End of Story. She truly loves the Clippers and is competent, but she is fine with the team being run by the NBA CEO. All Shelly would do is sign the bills.
If its true that Sterling’s cancer has spread outside his Prostate (likely if he’s taking medications that cause swelling in his face), then I doubt he will live more than 2 years.
Sterling has yet to use the sympathy from poor health card, but it would only make less likely for owners to turn away a Senile Dying Old Man.
