The Miami Heat took a demanding 3-1 series lead against the Brooklyn Nets with a Game 4 win at the Barclays Center. As the series heads back to Miami for Game 5, ticket prices on the secondary market have increased for the potential series clinching game.
LeBron James and the Heat will travel back to the American Airlines Arena in Miami for Wednesday night’s game. The average price for game 5 Miami Heat playoff tickets is currently $526.48, an increase of 7.11% from yesterday’s average of $491.53 before their game 4 win.
While the average price has risen for game 5, the cheapest secondary ticket has dropped a bit after the win. Before the start of game 4 last night, the cheapest secondary ticket was $133. After a win in Brooklyn, the cheapest secondary ticket on the market is now $92 as the series heads to Miami for game 5, though the cheapest primary ticket for game 5 is currently $71.90.
The increase in ticket price on the secondary market is largely due to the possibility of clinching the series against the Nets on Wednesday night. The Heat have cruised during this year’s postseason, losing just one game in the eight games they have played through two series. If the Heat can take game 5, they will move on to the Eastern Conference Finals to play the winner of the Pacers-Wizards series.
If the series reaches a game 6 the two teams will head back to Brooklyn and play Friday night. Secondary ticket prices at the Barclays Center haven’t changed drastically since yesterday, dropping just .38%. Average price for game 6 Brooklyn Nets vs Miami Heat tickets is currently $447.26. Before Game 4’s loss, average price was $448.97.
James had another huge night in game 4, dropping 49 points in a 102-96 victory over the Nets. The Nets played aggressively and kept the game close but it was Chris Bosh who put the nail in the coffin after burying a go-ahead three-pointer with 57.3 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Ray Allen then hit four consecutive free-throws to put the Heat ahead for good 101-96.
The season is on the line for Brooklyn as they head down to Miami for game 5. For the Heat, they are just one game away from reaching the Eastern Conference Finals for the fourth straight season and have increased their odds of a fourth straight NBA Finals appearance.
