Basketball is finally back.
After a two-day layoff, the 2014 NBA Playoffs returned for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The Indiana Pacers hosted the Miami Heat in a rematch of the 2013 Eastern Conference Finals, and the level of intensity and tension was as palpable as one could’ve possibly imagined.

1. Paul George posted 24 points and seven assists, and Roy Hibbert tallied 19 points and nine boards to lead the Indiana Pacers to a 107-96 victory over the Miami Heat. Dwyane Wade scored a game-high 27 points and LeBron James put up 25 points and 10 rebounds, but Indiana controlled the pace and the Heat converted just 6-of-23 from beyond the arc.
The Pacers have won five straight home games against the Heat.
2. During the 2014 NBA Playoffs, the Pacers are 9-1 when holding opponents below 100 points. Indiana is 0-4 when it fails to.
3. Chris Bosh finished with nine points on 4-of-12 shooting from the field. He’s failed to score in double-figures in 5 straight playoff games against the Pacers.
4. Indiana improves to 6-0 when Hibbert scores in double-figures during the 2014 NBA Playoffs.
5. This is the first time Indiana has won a Game 1 since the 2013 Eastern Conference Semifinals. It played three series since then.
Bonus Fact: Indiana was 29-of-37 from the free throw line. Miami was 10-of-15.
