Another day, another blowout.
The 2014 NBA Playoffs continued on Thursday, May 29 with the resumption of the Western Conference Finals. The San Antonio Spurs looked to bounce back from consecutive losses, while the Oklahoma City Thunder attempted to rebound from two lopsided defeats at AT&T Center.
Here’s how it all transpired.
1. Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili turned back the clocks as the San Antonio Spurs turned out yet another home domination of the Oklahoma City Thunder 117-89. Duncan recorded 22 points and 12 rebounds on 8-of-13 shooting and Ginobili tallied 19 points and six assists on a mark of 7-of-9 from the floor.
Six separate Spurs scored in double-figures as they took a 3-2 series lead.
2. The Spurs have won eight consecutive home games. The past seven have come by at least 17 points.
3. Duncan posted his 154th career postseason double-double. That’s second in NBA history to Magic Johnson, who retired with 157.
4. This was Duncan’s 98th career playoff game with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds. Second amongst active players is Dirk Nowitzki at 64.
5. OKC scored 29 fastbreak points in Game 4. It had a postseason-low four points in transition during Game 5.
