Group B is considered to be the strongest, more so than Group G—where America sits grouped together with Ghana, Germany and Portugal, which many stateside have dubbed the “Group of Death.”
Considering that Group B has both of the previous World Cup’s finalists, who can argue.
The biggest statement, however, has already been made by the Netherlands. Their 5-1 opening victory ensures that they have the inside track to the next round over the more heavily favored Spanish.
Even so, there is still plenty of soccer left to be played.
