The New York Knicks acquired a major upgrade at point guard at the expense of their starting center in a six-player trade with the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. The trade sends Jose Calderon to New York along with center Samuel Dalembert, wing Wayne Ellington, point guard Shane Larkin and the 34th and 51st picks in Thursday’s NBA Draft in exchange for center Tyson Chandler and point guard Raymond Felton. Mock Draft 9.0: Cavs Considering All Options
It what seems like a never-ending soap opera, the Cleveland Cavaliers are reportedly split on Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker. As things stand, I get the sense that the Cavs prefer to trade the top overall pick in Thursday’s draft. And if they do, I expect Joel Embiid to be a very real possibility if the Cavs move down. The significance of LeBron James opting out is that it comes early enough that all teams looking to make a play for him
Breaking Down Pittsburgh Baseball & Football Ticket Prices
In a city that prides itself on its industrial success, Pittsburgh also pours an undeniable amount of affection into their sports teams. Arguably best known for its steel production and several hundred bridges, the city of Pittsburgh has become incredibly familiar with postseason play in recent years. While the Penguins suffered a heartbreaking elimination in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semi-finals at the hands of the New York Rangers this past season, the Pirates find themselves in the thick
Photo of the Day: The Woes of the No. 2 NBA Draft Pick
Beware of the No. 2 pick in the NBA Draft. With mere days separating the association from its annual selection process, the official NBA Instagram account recapped one of the most important picks of all: No. 2. It showed each and every one of the players selected at that position of the draft dating back to 2005. After 2007, you’re looking at a slippery slope. 2006 featured All-Star power forward LaMarcus Aldridge ultimately ending up with the Portland Trail Blazers, while 2007 resulted in

The move by James should be seen as nothing more than a formality at this point. The decision to opt out gives him the option to decide what steps he would like to take in the next phase of
Tweet of the Night: Metta World Peace weighs in on LeBron James’ decision to opt out
With LeBron James making the decision to opt out of his current contract, the speculations have been rampant on Tuesday. The most likely scenario that many believe will happen is that James would simply re-sign with the Heat for another multi-year deal – perhaps for a cheaper amount to help the team score better talent in the market – but anything goes when a player of his caliber becomes an unrestricted free agent. Schayes: The NBA Draft, Back in the Day
With the NBA draft coming up, it is kind of fun to remember back to my draft day in 1981. It’s like going through your wedding album years later. But instead of the burgundy tuxedo and ruffled shirt, its 1980s hair and wide ties. Going into my senior year at Syracuse, I was a relatively unknown player. I had played behind All-American center Roosevelt Bouie and had just played my first season as the starter. Scouting was primitive by today’s standards.

The ‘stuff’ hit the proverbial fan Tuesday just before lunch, as ESPN broke the that four-time NBA MVP LeBron James’ agent Rich Paul had informed the Miami Heat that he has elected to opt out of his contract and become a free agent. [Read more…]
