Show You The Money: 2014 Free Agency Committed Payrolls & Cap Holds

Free agency began at midnight Eastern time today, and the rumors and reports will come in like an avalanche on the Internet and social media.

But how much guaranteed money does your team actually have on its books for next season?

While Brooklyn, not surprisingly, has the most on its books for next season, Miami has only Norris Cole’s guaranteed deal. The expected cap for next season is roughly $63.2 million, so if you see your team under that threshold then your team could have some money to play with if it offloads its non-guaranteed deals.

Most teams have no cap holds if you exclude rookie contracts, but Memphis has over $10 million in holds, which means the Grizzlies may not have the most active offseason unless trades are made.

So keep this handy when you’re wondering how much money your team really has to throw at free agents in the coming days.
