September 11th.
It is a day that carries a lot of meaning in America. 13 years ago two hijacked airplanes crashed into the North and South Towers of the Word Trade Center in New York City, a third plane crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. and a fourth plane crashed into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. All told, the nearly 3,000 people died as a result of the attacks.
In the years since, the area where the Twin Towers collapsed, known as Ground Zero, has been memorialized with the Tribute Light (seen right).
For some NBA athletes, September 11th held even greater meaning this year, as they were participating in the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Now it’s time for us to show why we are the USA & we can over come any adversity!! #UNLEASHTHEMANIMAL #REDWHITEANDBLUE #GoFariedGoUSA #QUEST4GOLD

Kyrie Irving led all scorers with 18 points. The team managed to coral 50 rebounds, yet only ammassed 14 assists en route to their 18 point win.
Irving and Team USA now await the winner of Friday’s semifinal between Serbia and France in their quest for another gold medal in international competition.

I think a cause of the malaise is based on the view that interest rates could be a good indicator for current monetary policy.
