Happy Halloween everyone! It’s that time of year again. Some people may not like the holiday, and perhaps don’t dress up or pass out candy like they’re supposed to. That’s the reason for Halloween though, right?
Whether you do celebrate All Hallow’s Eve or not, the best part, other than the cavities the day after, is getting to see what type of costumes people can dream up, and the amount of creativeness behind each one.
Being an NBA player is no different. They’re people too, and they wanted to show their spirit for the spooky holiday.
We’ll go from worst to first in today’s photo of the day, mostly based on comedic ramifications that come from each players costumes. Otto Porter of the Washington Wizards went an easy route in my opinion, as he posted this to his Instagram today.
That’s Porter disguised as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Michelangelo, wearing one the same everyday costumes we do. A little common, maybe even plain, but you still have to enjoy seeing a grown man as a Ninja Turtle. I know I do, #TMNT.
Next up is Knicks star Carmelo Anthony. He posted a picture of him and his family to his Instagram getting ready for Trick or Treat. However, you can’t really tell if that’s him or not to be honest..
Melo felt it appropriate to keep himself hidden from the public, so he went as, um, I’m not really sure. Can anyone tell me what that is? Next.
The next three costumes are all pretty creative, albeit for one. The lack of creativity lands the next player in the third spot.
Paul Pierce is the Captain! “Captain Truth America”, Pierce captioned under one of his photos as the leader of the Avengers on his Instagram on Friday.
The second spot in today’s photo of the day Halloween costume contest goes to Iman Shumpert, also of the Knicks.
The only reason this didn’t win first place is because if he hadn’t told people what he was supposed to be, not a lot of people would know what he was going for here. “Happy Halloween from Sneakerhead Shumpman!! #theknickstapeinafishtank”, Shumpert captioned under the photo. However he did it, it’s a very creative and unique costume. Nicely done Shump.
But, for reasons that will be left unsaid, the winner has to go to…
“FloBron”. Wow. LeBron James posted this to his Facebook page on Halloween saying “Happy Halloween #FloBron #Switch #IPROMISE”. Of course, LeBron is imitating the Progressive spokeswoman in Flo.
This picture/costume will never get old. Just think of the memes that will come of this.
So “FloBron” easily takes home the victory in my mind. If you are choosing to dress up and participate in the festivities, have a Happy Halloween and be safe.
