NEW YORK — The draft lottery is probably going to look a whole lot different by the time this week is over. Regarding the Philadelphia 76ers, it is going to ensure that their tank job for this upcoming season will not be replicated by anyone else anytime soon. Under a proposal scheduled to be voted upon by representatives of the 30 NBA ownership groups, the formula for the draft lottery will change. As first reported by Zach Lowe of Grantland, the

Five Things To Watch: Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns surprised everyone last season – including themselves – when they won 48 games and missed the playoffs only due to a couple of tough losses in the final week of the season. Goran Dragic had the best season of his career, Eric Bledsoe lived up to the potential his biggest fans envisioned and both Markieff Morris and Gerald Green were in the running for Sixth Man Award. Now entering their second season together – with a new key piece
Tweet of the Night: Congratulations For Peyton Manning From Around The NBA
As many fans often suggest, Sunday is a day for football. And, with the NBA’s 2014-15 regular season yet to have started, many fans, including those within the association, have their eyes afixed on the entertainment that is the National Football League. The Sunday Night Football game between the Broncos and 49ers drew attention from many eyes around the NBA, among which included 13-time NBA champion and New York Knicks president of basketball operations Phil Jackson. SH Blog: LeBron James Returns To Akron In Latest Beats By Dre Spot; Celtics Defeat Nets In 44 Minute Game
The return of LeBron James to the Cleveland Cavaliers has been lauded enough in terms of the impact that it means for the franchise for the upcoming NBA season. The Big Aristotle is back in full-on clown mode. What better way to go than to feature the Round Mound of Rebound and TNT cohorts Grant Hill, Chris Webber and Kenny Smith in their
Five Things To Watch: Memphis Grizzlies
The Memphis Grizzlies begin the 2014-15 season with high hopes. With the core in place and an exceptionally deep bench, making a return to the Western Conference finals – or further – is the goal. Last season, the injury bug bit the Grizzlies. Multiple key players missed extended time, and the Grizzlies couldn’t separate themselves in the West as a result. Ending the season contemplating what could have been is unpleasant, and it’s a situation the Grizzlies don’t care to find themselves
Celtics and Nets largely unaffected by experimental 44-minute game
Adding some small degree of excitement to what would have been a dull, mundane preseason game at the Barclays Center, the league conducted an experiment with the Celtics and Nets playing 11-minute quarters on Sunday. In addition to the one fewer minute per quarter, there were two media timeouts in the second and fourth quarters instead of the normal three. The shorter 44-minute long game, the first one in NBA history, ended in a pleasant one hour and 58 minutes with the Celtics
SH Blog: Blake Griffin scuffles with Trevor Booker; Byron Scott defends old-school approach
Yes, we’re still in preseason. That doesn’t mean anyone wants to get dunked on. So when Trevor Booker saw Griffin going up for a classic Blake Griffin dunk, he did what every basketball player is taught to do: make him earn it at the line. Maybe it was a little rough, though. Griffin certainly thought so, as evidenced by the above clip. Booker got a flagrant-1 for the foul. After the game, he seemed to regret even escalating it as far as
