Chicago Bulls big man Pau Gasol has helped the team get off to a quick start, going 4-1 in their first five games. The Spaniard was the key free agent signing the team made over the summer to help solidify an already solid frontcourt with Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson.
Gasol had a busy summer. He signed with the Bulls after leaving behind Kobe Bryant in LA, and was also a member of Spain’s National Team that played in the FIBA World Cup.
On Thursday the Bulls traveled to the City of Brotherly Love to square off against a 76ers team searching for their first victory of the season on Friday. Pau got some time to himself before the game, and this is what happened.
Rocky Balboa!
He posted the photo to his Instagram on Friday. “Tonight we are playing in #Philly! Pic from my day off with the Great #Rocky!”, Gasol captioned for the pic of he and the greatest underdog to ever live (or not live).
Unfortunately for he and his teammates, they will be playing without Derrick Rose once again, who is struggling with sprained ankles.
No matter, though, because the great Rocky himself couldn’t pull out a victory for the underdog Sixers.
