Isaiah Canaan is no longer a rookie. He’s beginning his second year now with the Houston Rockets, who selected him 34th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft. The second-year guard from Murray State has already surpassed his start totals from last year through the first eight games this season, starting five this year compared to last.
He spent a good part of his rookie season playing with the Rockets D-League team, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. When Canaan did join his pro team, he wasn’t forgiven his rookie duties.
Although it’s a Throwback Thursday, it’s still worth taking a look at this picture. Rookies don’t get to escape the rituals of the veterans that “haze” them into the league. Of course, every rooks experience is different, but sometimes similar.
For example, check out this Photo of the Day and compare it to the one Isaiah Canaan posted to his Instagram today.
Canaan had this to say about his TBT: “TBT… Rookie year with rookie duties smh!! #1DBookbag #Swagger #momscaughtmeslipping”.
For those of you who aren’t hip to boy bands these days, One Direction is probably the most popular one out today among young girls. Don’t ask me how I know that..
Moving on. Pretty sure he’s either confused on the definition of swagger, or he actually thinks this One Direction book bag gives him said swagger. I have a feeling he’s just simply confused. I’m more of an N*SYNC kind of guy myself, or even the Mini Mouse bags from the photo linked above.
Dwight Howard in the background does look pretty pissed. What if that bag was meant for D12?
