The 2014-15 NBA regular season continued on Tuesday, November 18 with eight teams taking part in four games. Three of the four outings were decided by single-digits and all featured significant feats.
Here’s how it all transpired.
1. Kobe Bryant scored 28 points as the Los Angeles Lakers used a balanced attack to defeat the Atlanta Hawks 114-109 on the road. Carlos Boozer added 20 points on 10-of-14 shooting, Jordan Hill had 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Nick Young returned to tally 17 to help the Lakers overcome 29 points from Paul Millsap and 23 from Jeff Teague.
Jeremy Lin tallied 15 points and 10 assists on 6-of-7 shooting for his first double-double since March 20, 2014.
2. With his 27th of 28 points, Bryant became the fourth player in NBA history to reach 32,000 career points.
3. Ersan Ilyasova posted 20 points to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a 117-113 victory over the New York Knicks. Seven separate players scored in double-figures for Milwaukee, thus overcoming 26 points from Carmelo Anthony, 24 from Tim Hardaway Jr., 21 from Iman Shumpert and 14 from Amar’e Stoudemire.
Shumpert’s 21 points are his most since January 3, 2014.
4. Anthony Davis out-dueled DeMarcus Cousins as the New Orleans Pelicans earned a narrow 106-100 win against the Sacramento Kings. Davis finished with 28 points, nine rebounds, three blocks and two steals for New Orleans, while Cousins tallied 24 points and 17 boards for the Kings.
With its win, New Orleans is above .500 after 10 games for the first time since 2010-11.
5. Alec Burks put up 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Utah Jazz past the Oklahoma City Thunder 98-81. Enes Kanter added 16 points and 15 rebounds, and Trey Burke tallied 17 points and nine assists to lead the Jazz to the lopsided home victory.
Burks has a double-double in each of his past two games. He had zero in his first 211.
Bonus Fact: DeMarcus Cousins is tied with Nikola Vucevic for the league-lead with eight double-doubles.
