The 2014-15 NBA regular season continued on Wednesday, December 3 with 10 games featuring 20 teams. Home and road teams went an even 5-5, with two going to overtime and six being decided by single-digits.
Here’s how it all transpired.
1. Michael Carter-Williams put forth 20 points, nine assists, nine rebounds and three steals to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to an 85-77 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Gorgui Dieng finished with 15 points, 16 rebounds, two assists and two steals
Philadelphia gets its first victory of the season. It improves to 1-17.
2. Chris Paul put up 19 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds and one steal as the Los Angeles Clippers blew out the Orlando Magic 114-86. Blake Griffin posted 21 points, eight rebounds, six assists, two steals and a block, and J.J. Redick scored 20 points for L.A., while Tobias Harris had 16 points, eight rebounds and two steals in 25 minutes for Orlando.
The Clippers have won six consecutive games.
3. Tyson Chandler tallied 18 points, 20 rebounds, one block and a steal to give the Dallas Mavericks a 107-105 win against the Milwaukee Bucks. Monta Ellis dropped 23 points, seven assists, two rebounds, three steals and a block against his former team, while Brandon Knight led Milwaukee with 25 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals.
Dallas has won five straight outings.
4. Pau Gasol posted 19 points, 15 rebounds and three assists, and Joakim Noah came up with 14 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and one steal as the Chicago Bulls took down the Charlotte Hornets 102-95. Kemba Walker scored 23 points and Lance Stephenson had 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists and a steal, but Charlotte fell again.
Charlotte has lost 10 consecutive games.
5. Jeff Teague put up 27 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals to lead the Atlanta Hawks past the Miami Heat 112-102. Dwyane Wade tallied 28 points and seven assists, Chris Bosh posted 27 points and 11 rebounds, and Mario Chalmers finished with 19 points and 11 assists, but the second unit failed to step up.
Atlanta has won four in a row and 10 of its past 13 games.
6. Bradley Beal scored 27 points, Marcin Gortat had 21 points and 11 rebounds, John Wall picked up 17 points and 15 assists, and Kris Humphries grabbed 20 rebounds as the Washington Wizards defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 111-95. Kobe Bryant scored 29 points and Nick Young had 21, but L.A. fell to 5-14.
Washington is 10-0 when it holds its opponent below 100 points and 2-5 when it doesn’t.
7. James Harden scored 21 points as the Houston Rockets worked past the Memphis Grizzlies 105-96 to improve to 14-4. Mike Conley tallied 15 points, six assists and three steals for Memphis, but the Grizzlies’ torrid start encountered a bit of a hitch.
The loss snaps Memphis’ five-game winning streak.
8. Kyle Lowry scored 39 points to lead the Toronto Raptors past the Utah Jazz for a 123-104 victory. Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter both scored 19 points for Utah, but it was Toronto which continued to win games.
Lowry’s 39 points were a career-high.
9. Jeff Green erupted for 32 points to lead the Boston Celtics past the Detroit Pistons 109-102 in overtime. Andre Drummond went off for 27 points, 14 rebounds, five blocks and four steals,
Detroit has lost an NBA-worst 10 consecutive games.
10. Mirza Teletovic went off for 26 points and 15 rebounds as the Brooklyn Nets overcame the San Antonio Spurs 95-93 in overtime. Danny Green led the Spurs with 20 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, three blocks and two steals, and Tim Duncan dropped 14 points, 17 rebounds and three blocks, while Deron Williams posted 17 points and nine assists.
Teletovic’s 26 points are a season-high and his 15 rebounds are a career-best.
Bonus Fact: Chris Bosh has seven double-doubles in 2014-15. He had six in 2013-14.
