If you‘ve ever seen the movie Dumb and Dumber, you know exactly what I’m talking about here. If not, then you should just slam your head on the nearest desk/flat surface in shame for not seeing one of the best movies of all time.
Just because I’m extremely biased towards anything with Jim Carrey in it doesn’t make the above statement not true, so I’m sticking to it. Anyway, on Tuesday December 9th, Suns guard Eric Bledsoe celebrated his 25th birthday, just a day after he posted his first career triple-double in an overtime loss to the Clippers on Monday.
Surely an early birthday present to himself, Bledsoe got his celebration off to an early start when he outdueled his former teammate and mentor Chris Paul to the tune of 27 points, 16 assists and 11 rebounds. Unfortunately for him, his Suns weren’t able to get the W thanks to Blake Griffin’s dominance and ridiculously lucky game-winning three (I highly recommend watching it here if you haven’t already).
Maybe the only thing better than his performance Monday night was his style at what looks like to be some sort of dance/formal event years ago, but I’m not entirely sure. The only thing you can be sure of is that he took a page out of Harry Dunne’s book from the Dumb and Dumber film.
First of all, if you haven’t seen the film, here’s a little snippet of Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels who play the main characters Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne respectively.
That scene is great in so many ways.
Okay, now back to Bledsoe’s suit. This photo was posted by Eric Gordon, Bledsoe’s teammate on the Clippers for the 2010-2011 season, to his Instagram.
Clearly not an exact replica of the suit, but you can’t blame me for immediately linking the two together in my brain. Just throw on a top hat and give him a cane and he’s a spitting image.
Thanks for that gem of a pic, Gordon. I’d pay to see players on every team dress like this before and after games. Can you imagine watching a postgame interview with a player wearing a suit like this? I know I could.
Oh, and Happy Birthday to Eric Bledsoe!
