The Golden State Warriors decided a few months ago on their design for the new arena they’re planning on building. If anyone saw the renderings of the initially proposed arena, you had the exact same thought in mind as just about everyone else: a toilet with the lid down.
The designs were mocked immediately, spreading across multimedia in an instant. The photos garnered a lot of negative attention and, thankfully, the Warriors took notice of that.
The terrible reception Golden State received forced their hand on the lever. Those original concepts were flushed down the (ironically entertaining) toilet that no longer exists.
On Wednesday, a few reports/writers from the San Jose Mercury News posted the new designs for the Arena on Twitter.
First, from Mike Rosenberg of the Mercury News, here’s a photo showing the two designs side by side. I shouldn’t have to explain which is which here people.

As you can see, the image on the left is the original toilet bowl concept, and the new stylish and not-looking-like-a-toilet design.
He also tweeted these out a little bit after the aerial views.

The arena is reportedly part of a $1 billion project that will look to finish construction in time for the 2018-19 season, and will be located in San Francisco.
The newer design is much better than the first, mainly because it got rid of the elephant in the room. It just looks a bit more stylish and sharp with the curved/rounded edges and details.
How did the team working on the original design NOT realize it looked like a giant toilet? And it would’ve been a cool design if the roof (toilet lid) would be retractable, kind of like a real toilet seat that goes up and down. Think about it Warriors.
