It’s that time of year again. The holiday season is here, when family and friends gather to celebrate and enjoy time together after a long year. It’s the season of giving for those who are lucky enough to have the opportunity to do so.
However, there are those who aren’t as fortunate as the rest of us. People without homes and jobs, children without parents or a place to call home. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, it’s great for those who have the means to give back to do so.
Many players and teams throughout the NBA have amazing charity events and drives that help give back to those in need. The NBA Cares program goes above and beyond to do everything they can to raise awareness for the less fortunate that deserve just as much as everyone else.
On Thursday, DeJuan Blair of the Washington Wizards posted these photos to his Instagram that shows how he’s doing his part to help out kids in need.
“Toys for the event! Such an honor now I gotta go home and wrap them up !!! #NBACARES #WIZCARES #45CARES”, Blair captioned under the photo.
It’s nice to see players doing their part and spending their own money on toys for kids who don’t have the privilege of Christmas every year. These children will be able to celebrate Christmas this year with a donation, possibly for the first time in their lives.
Blair posted this photo below as well.
“Don’t forget to bring your toys to tomorrow’s game!!! I have a lot of goodies I’m buying for the kids this should be great! #NBACARES #WIZCARES #45CARES
Holy toys.
Remember that it’s the season of giving, and any type of donation can help someone celebrate Christmas who might not have had the chance to otherwise. It’s for a great cause, and the NBA does a great job supporting the people who need it most.
