When you’ve played the game of basketball at a level as consistent as Tim Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs, you’re bound to move past a lot of players in the history books.
This year has been the year of passing for the power forward of sorts, as he became the 19th player in NBA history to score at least 25,000 career points. The feat also put him in the most elite of categories, as he became only the second player in history to have at least 25,000 points, 14,000 rebounds and 2,500 blocks alongside the great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Duncan reached yet another milestone on Monday, moving past Reggie Miller for sole possession of 17th place on the all-time scoring list with 25,288 career points. The beauty of twitter is that the players tend to know these things and react almost on the spot, as Miller did:
Congrats to Tim Duncan, like the TV show The Jeffersons, keep “moving on up!!”.. #TheBigFundamental

Duncan currently needs 73 more points to move past Paul Pierce for 16th all-time. It remains to be seen if he can achieve this particular feat, given that Pierce is also still playing. Both players will soon look to move past Alex English, who sits 15th all-time with 25,613 points.
