Boston Celtics forward Jeff Green posted a photo on Friday, celebrating his “second birthday”. I’m sure you’re wondering what he means by that, and that’s what I’m here to tell you.
In December of 2011 after a routine physical, doctors discovered an aortic aneurysm. After discussing the options, Green and the Boston Celtics decided it best to have surgery on his heart and fix the condition completely.
He would go on to miss the rest of the 2011-12 season after he underwent successful surgery on his heart, on January 9, 2012.
Of course, that day was three years ago to this date.
On the three year anniversary of his heart surgery that essentially saved his life and his career, Green posted this photo to Instagram with this caption on Friday.
“HAPPY 3 YEAR ANNIVERSARY TO ME!!!…Today is my second birthday. This day changed my life and outlook on life forever. Very blessed to be alive, and doing what I love. Nothing can ever kill my vibe
