The San Antonio Spurs won their fifth title last year when they routed the Miami Heat in five games. It was the fifth time that Gregg Popovich and Tim Duncan visited the President at the White House.
The first time they did, Bill Clinton was in office. So overall, Duncan and Pop have met and have photographs with the last three Presidents of the United States. That’s pretty awesome if you ask me.
On Monday, the Spurs took their trip to visit Barack Obama at his place of business to celebrate their championship run in the NBA.
Here’s a few photos that forward Austin Daye posted to Instagram from their visit.
Mr. Lincoln, I presume? They’re basically twins.
Here’s another one of Daye posing as one of our great leaders, Mr. John F. Kennedy.
He’s pretty damn good at that.
And finally, the best one of the day, here’s one that the Spurs and several of their players posted to their Instagrams throughout the day, including Daye and teammate Patty Mills, featuring the one and only Mr. Barack Obama.
“What more could I ask for… Great day meeting the president of the United States”, Daye captioned under the photo.
Honestly, I’m not really sure what more you could ask for.
It must’ve been an incredible experience for the Spurs and their players who haven’t had the chance to meet the President of the United States before.
But for Coach Pop and Duncan, do you think they’re over going to the White House and meeting the POTUS yet? I mean, come on, they’ve done this five times already.
