The 2014-15 NBA regular season continued on Friday, February 6 with a slate of four high-octane games. An All-Star set a franchise record and a number of championship contenders were in action.
Here’s how it all transpired.
1. Nicolas Batum scored 20 points and LaMarcus Aldridge tallied 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Portland Trail Blazers past the Phoenix Suns 108-87. Markieff Morris recorded 18 points and eight rebounds, and Eric Bledsoe had 17 points to lead the Suns, while C.J. McCollum picked up 12 points in 20 minutes for Portland.
Phoenix has dropped three in a row.
2. With his 19-point and 13-rebound performance, Aldridge set the franchise record with 220 double-doubles.
3. LeBron James and Kevin Love shined as the Cleveland Cavaliers dominated the Los Angeles Clippers 105-94. Love posted 24 points and nine rebounds, and James put up 23 points and nine assists on 8-of-14 shooting.
Cleveland extends its winning streak to 12 consecutive games.
4. Tyson Chandler put up 16 points and 16 rebounds as the Dallas Mavericks picked up a 101-78 victory over the Sacramento Kings. Monta Ellis scored 21 points for the Mavericks and DeMarcus Cousins posted 23 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks on 8-of-16 shooting for the lowly Kings.
Dallas has won four of five.
5. Gerald Henderson went off for 27 points on 10-of-15 shooting to lead the Charlotte Hornets to a 94-87 victory over the Washington Wizards. John Wall led the Wizards with 15 points and 13 assists, and Paul Pierce finished with 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting, but Washington ultimately fell short.
The Wizards have lost five consecutive games.
Bonus Fact: Charlotte’s won three in a row and is 12-3 in its past 15 games.
