The All-Star Weekend and its festivities have come and gone. It was a fantastic, unbelievably entertaining series of events and competitions that did not disappoint. But, let’s not forget about the players and coaches who weren’t involved in the weekend’s activities, but still had their own time for some fun and relaxation. [Read more…]

Bernucca: For me, The Best All-Star Game Ever
All-Star Weekend didn’t start out too well for my son, Andrew. On Friday morning, he had an argument with his first serious girlfriend a day before his first serious Valentine’s Day. With that hanging over his head, he had to go to work, where his primary job is to kick mallrats out of the store. And it was the last work day before the All-Star Game and we still hadn’t heard from someone who had said that maybe, just maybe, he
Chris Bosh: Heat “in a 30-game sprint” towards playoff spot
It’s been five years since Chris Bosh found himself in a truly competitive race for a playoff spot. The 2009-2010 season, his last as Toronto’s franchise player and his last before having LeBron James as a teammate, saw his team finish 40-42 and a game behind Chicago for the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference. In his first year without James since that ’09-’10 season, Bosh and his teammates will now compete in a tight playoff race for the first time in half
Sheridan: Can Westbrook be Himself and Keep Durant in OKC?
NEW YORK — Be yourself, Russell. Just be yourself. That was the message LeBron James had for the MVP of the 2015 NBA All-Star Game, and you know what? There aren’t that many people bold enough to say what LeBron said about Russell Westbroook. Don’t get me wrong … there are plenty of people with plenty of opinions on the guy who wears a zero on his uniform for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Stuff like: “Stop shooting so much.” Or: “Give the
PODCAST: Who can the Knicks get in free agency? Not the top guys
There is not much for New Yorkers to look forward to over the remainder of the Knicks season, unless Jim Dolan decides to write another nasty over-the-top e-mail to an elderly fan. There is a slim chance Phil Jackson can find a taker for Jose Calderon on the trade market, but aside from that there will likely be no Carmelo Anthony, no Amare Stoudemire, and no hope. The Knicks are all-in on free agency and the draft, but here is the
SH Blog: George optimistic on in-season return; Cousins fires back at Barkley
All-Star Saturday is the best, and this year’s was one to remember. We got the Curry/Thompson showdown in the 3-point shootout, Zach LaVine effectively winning the dunk contest after one dunk, and Chris Bosh’s incredible dominance of the Shooting Stars Challenge. The main event’s Sunday night, and it’ll be fun, for sure. But nobody’s going to put on a Tune Squad jersey. There’ll be plenty more recapping the night (and the weekend) here on Sheridan Hoops coming up, so let’s get to
Tweet of the Night: Is Zach LaVine the Greatest Dunker of All-Time?
The weekend came, bringing with it the Saturday All-Star festivities, headlined by the Dunk Contest. There was a significant amount of hype for Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Zach LaVine heading into the Sprite All-Star Dunk Contest. Anyone that has seen him play knows that he has freakishly athletic hops. For those who have witnessed his athleticism, it came as no surprise that he would win the contest. [Read more…]
Isaiah Thomas Addresses Goran Dragic Trade Rumors
With Thursday’s NBA trade deadline quickly approaching, one of the bigger names who’s rumored to be dealt is Phoenix Suns point guard Goran Dragic. Despite Phoenix clinging to a half-game lead over Oklahoma City for the 8th and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, the Suns reportedly may want to deal Dragic, who’s an unrestricted free agent after the season. The Lakers, Rockets and other teams have been trying to persuade the Suns to deal Dragic, according to an ESPN.com report
