The 2014-15 NBA regular season continued on Saturday, March 28 with a slate of five critical games. All five outcomes went a long way towards determining the seeding in the 2015 playoffs.
This is how it all transpired.
1. Stephen Curry torched the Milwaukee Bucks for 25 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field and 6-of-9 from 3-point range to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 108-95 victory. Klay Thompson recorded 21 points for the Warriors, while Khris Middleton led the Bucks with 14 points of his own.
Golden State has won 60 games for the first time in franchise history. The organization was found in 1946.
2. LaMarcus Aldridge went off for 32 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Portland Trail Blazers past the Denver Nuggets 120-114. Arron Afflalo added 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting and Damian Lillard dished out 10 assists for Portland, while Randy Foye had 17 points for the Nuggets.
Portland’s won three in a row.
3. Nikola Mirotic recorded 24 points in 26 minutes as the Chicago Bulls blew past the New York Knicks 111-80. Pau Gasol added 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Bulls, while Andrea Bargnani had 14 points and seven rebounds for the Knicks.
New York has lost a franchise record 60 games.
4. Rudy Gobert went off for 13 points, 15 rebounds, four blocks and three steals to help the Utah Jazz pick up a 94-89 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Russell Westbrook had 37 points, eight rebounds and six assists, but he committed nine turnovers and shot 12-of-29 from the field in a game in which OKC’s entire offense stalled.
The Thunder have lost four consecutive road games.
5. Kemba Walker scored 21 points and Gerald Henderson tallied 20 points on 9-of-10 shooting to help the Charlotte Hornets get past the Atlanta Hawks 115-100. Mike Muscala had marks of 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Dennis Schroder tallied 17 points and 11 assists for the Hawks, who sat all five starters.
Both the 18 points and 10 rebounds set new career-highs for Muscala.
Bonus Fact: Golden State has won nine consecutive games.
