With only four NBA games this evening, it should be easier to find DFS standouts. Instead, we have difficult choices at multiple positions, with too many qualified candidates at some spots, not enough at others.
Two of the league’s best point guards meet head-on, as Stephen Curry $9300 leads the Warriors into L.A. to face Chris Paul $9600. Who will put up the better numbers? Which team will take the game more seriously? A lot of points will be scored; you might consider building a lineup around both.
Still not playing at DraftKings? They match your first deposit 100% ($5 to $600) with bonus funds that convert to cash, plus you get a FREE entry in the $80K Sharpshooter — the top score earns $5,000 and 6,155 of 30,651 teams will cash. Win even more in the $100K Crossover, with its $27 buy-in also FREE to new depositors. That contest has 840 cash prizes ($15,000 for first) and a maximum 4,225 teams.
Draymond Green $7500 (shin) is questionable and joking about being afraid of Blake Griffin $8600, who suffered some pain and swelling in his elbow after banging it on the floor on Sunday. DeAndre Jordan $8400 would be even more prominent if Blake sits. Klay Thompson $7100 is completely recovered from an ankle sprain and has a good matchup vs. J.J. Redick $6500. A terrific game to watch could also be profitable.
It’s crucial to follow breaking news at this time of year. The Hawks won comfortably at home last night with their starting five playing significant minutes. This visit to Detroit is their fourth game in five nights, so we may see an entirely different lineup. Dennis Schroeder (toe) would have been a great play, but he’s out; seldom-used Shelvin Mack $3300 might step up in his place. Mike Muscala $3400, Kent Bazemore $4200, John Jenkins $3400 and Elton Brand $3200 were the other starters when Atlanta’s “B” team lost in Charlotte on Saturday. The Pistons are likely to take advantage of that group, with Reggie Jackson $8700 and Andre Drummond $8900 both capable of huge numbers.
The Spurs are building momentum at the right time of year; it’s like they have done this before. Kawhi Leonard $8100 is by far the best SF on a thin board, especially if DeMarre Carroll $5800 gets the night off. Luol Deng $5600 (knee) is questionable, Hassan Whiteside $7200 (hand) might not be 100% if he does return and Goran Dragic $6900 is playing through back pain. Dwyane Wade $7600 is the last star standing for the Heat, despite a sore knee. Udonis Haslem $4400 has stepped up recently. The visitors are deep and healthy by comparison, with Tim Duncan $6700, Tony Parker $5900 and Tiago Splitter $4500 all attractively priced.
Indiana at Brooklyn has playoff implications. It’s almost comical to watch six mediocre teams in the East “battle” for two playoff spots and a probable first-round loss. The Nets seem to want it more; they have won three straight and seven of ten with Brook Lopez $7800 leading the way. Joe Johnson $5800 has woken up in his last two and Deron Williams $5800 looks pretty sound. The Pacers rely on George Hill $7500; the good Roy Hibbert $5200 might show up and David West $5400 is recovered from an illness.
