Wow! If you keyed on the Mavericks-Nuggets game last night, congratulations. Danilo Gallinari was unconscious with 47 points and the final score (in double OT) was a mind-boggling 144-143. Not only would the Italian have been extremely profitable at DraftKings, he may have decided some traditional Head-to-Head playoffs. The NBA — where anything can happen, especially in April.
There are six games on the final Saturday night of the regular season. Some things we know for sure — the Warriors will be 37-2 at home after clobbering the road-weary Timberwolves, and no matter who starts for the Bulls, they will beat what’s left of the 76ers, without their best player Nerlens Noel.
DK will match your first deposit 100% (up to $600) with bonus funds that convert to cash, plus you get plus you get a FREE entry in the $55K Sharpshooter — the top score earns $4,000 and 4,390 of 21,073 teams win cash. Or redeem your FREE entry in the $75K Crossover, normally a $27 buy-in. That contest has 630 cash prizes ($10,000 for first) and a maximum of 3,168 teams.
The Magic lost a close one at home last night and should take out their frustrations on the Knicks, but the Raptors — who escaped Orlando with a narrow win — are no sure thing in Miami.
The Blazers’ injury list grows longer. LaMarcus Aldridge (foot) won’t play tonight and Arron Afflalo (shoulder) will be out for a while. That does create opportunities for others. Grizzlies at Clippers could be a playoff preview, but it’s a road back-to-back for Memphis and a little “sandbagging” would be no surprise.
At PG, flip a coin between Chris Paul $9600 and Stephen Curry $9500. If you think Damian Lillard $7900 will beat the Jazz mostly by himself, that’s a sweet price, or go cheap with his teammate C. J. McCollum $4000, who will start on the wing.
DeMar DeRozan $8100, Victor Oladipo $7200 and Klay Thompson $7000 top the SG list, as others are hurt and/or tired. Bargain hunters can look at Evan Fournier $3200, who was sharp last night in his second game back from a hip injury.
Gordon Hayward $7500 was great at home last night, but may not see much action in this road back-to-back. Tobias Harris $6600 is a decent play at SF, with Nicolas Batum $6400 also likely to see big minutes. It’s a must-win for Luol Deng $5500 and the Heat, but he’s far from healthy. Rodney Hood $4700 is likely to benefit most if Hayward’s minutes are reduced.
As often happens, PF is deep compared to other positions, even with LMA and Noel sidelined. Blake Griffin $8700 is the standout, Draymond Green $7300 is more affordable and if Pau Gasol $8300 takes a night off to rest, Taj Gibson $4900 becomes a bargain. Tyler Hansbrough $4000 is starting for Toronto and a double-double candidate until Amir Johnson $4500 (ankle) returns.
At C, DeAndre Jordan $8000 and Marc Gasol $7000 face each other, but I prefer Nikola Vucevic $7700 at home anainst a weak opponent, or Hassan Whiteside $7000 in desperation mode. Meyers Leonard $3800 is in line for extra run as Portland limps to the finish.
