It took longer than expected, but the Atlanta Hawks took care of business in a big way in Game 6 against the Brooklyn Nets with a 111-87 victory to close out the series.
The Nets kept it close heading into half time with a six-point deficit, but the Hawks shut the door in the third quarter, outscoring their opponent 41-21.
Up next are the Washington Wizards – a team the Hawks went 3-1 against in the regular season. The one loss came in the final week of the season when Atlanta had nothing to play for and chose to rest all of its starters.
The Wizards, meanwhile, have been well-rested after surprisingly sweeping the Toronto Raptors in the first round last Sunday.
After seeing the conclusion of the Hawks-Nets contest, Kris Humphries, the backup power forward of the Wizards, had this to say:
Atlanta it is.
