It was not a certainty that Mike Conley would be available for Game 2 against the Golden State Warriors after missing the past 10 days of action due to multiple facial fractures suffered during the first round of the playoffs against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Conley did play on Tuesday with a fitted mask, and his presence was enough to help the Memphis Grizzlies tie the series 1-1 heading back home for Saturday’s contest. The point guard helped dictate the pace of the game and scored an impressive 22 points on eight-of-12 shooting from the field, while helping hold Stephen Curry to 19 points on seven-of-19 shooting from the field, including just two-of-11 from the arc.
Every time the the Warriors looked to make a run against the Grizzlies, Conley was there to put a stop to it with multiple floaters and timely shots throughout the game. His performance was inspiring, and players around the league took notice:

Interesting to see how much better Memphis has been with Mike Conley in game 2. Guy has been really good all night.
