There’s a Wrigley Field matinee (2:10 ET) and a 6:00 start for the Giants in Washington today that are included in All-Day MLB contests at DraftKings. The 13-game evening slate (7:05) is the main attraction, with the largest Guaranteed Prize Pools, There’s more chances to win — and much smaller player pools — in Turbo (8:05; 4 games) and Late (9:40; 2 games) action.
The nightcap features Clayton Kershaw $13100 at home against the light-hitting Mets. Rookie Noah Syndergaard $8700 might match the Dodgers’ ace in a low-scoring duel that’s worth staying up late to watch.
Michael Wacha $9900 will be a mystery to the Padres. Chris Archer $10100 shut down the Yankees when they met May 12 and is healthier than Masahiro Tanaka $10200.
DK matches your first deposit 100% (up to $600) with bonus funds that convert to cash. You also get a FREE entry into the $110K Moonshot, with 8,421 guaranteed prizes — $10,000 for first — and a maximum of 42,146 teams.
There are a few other SP to consider. Julio Teheran $8000 is a reasonable play against the Phillies, Ubaldo Jimenez $7500 spun a gem (8 IP, 4 H, 0 BB, 7K) last start and crafty lefty Tommy Milone $6400 has scored 24+ PTS in three of his last four.
Justin Masterson $5100 is a stealth play vs. the Astros. After a poor start to the season and shoulder tendinitis, he rediscovered his slider in the minors and looked sharp 5 IP (on a pitch count) in his reaturn. Back home after taking two of three in Tampa and three of four in Toronto, the Red Sox should give him plenty of support against Dan Straily $5500.
We got several things right in yesterday’s Spin, like Russell Martin $4100 (18 PTS) who remains the #1 C on the board. Josh Phegley $3100 has been profitable in DFS against lefties all season. That’s a great price again for a .982 OPS.
The only downside to using Paul Goldschmidt $6000 is price. 1B/3B Miguel Cabrera $5000 is overdue for a power surge and David Ortiz $4300 has belted three homers in five games.
Jason Kipnis $4900 deserves top billing at 2B, but there’s value elsewhere. Neil Walker $4100 is on a tear, and Robinson Cano $3700 broke out of a slump with a big game (4-for-5, HR, 3 RBI) on Wednesday.
3B Manny Machado $4800 in a hitter’s park off a lefty is my highest-salaried bat in tonight’s sample lineup. If you’re stacking, Pablo Sandoval $4000 is affordable. With a pair of hits in three straight, Aramis Ramirez $3900 might have woken up from a season-long slumber.
At SS, Troy Tulowitzki $4800 usually costs more and is often well worth it. Because I’m expecting a couple of big rallies from the hot Boston lineup, Xander Bogaerts $3700 is the play; I’d also use J.J. Hardy $3600 with confidence.
Mike Trout $5900 and J.D. Martinez $4800 are excellent plays, but we’re using three more Red Sox — SS/OF Hanley Ramirez $4700, 3B/OF Brock Holt $3400 (who actually plays 2B) and the much-improved Alejandro De Aza $4100. Cut loose by the last-place Phillies, Grady Sizemore $2600 has been hitting since being called up by the Rays. Nolan Reimold $3000, who starts only vs. southpaws, is 7-for-16 off John Danks $5000 with a 1.313 OPS.
