Without a doubt, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors has had one of the most memorable years of any athlete in recent memory.
The mesmerizing point guard helped Team USA win gold in the World Championship games, had the highest number of votes to start for the All-Star game, was No. 1 in jersey sales, won the league’s MVP award, led his team to the first championship in 40 years and unintentionally got to share with the world of the beautiful family he has, including his daughter Riley, who stole the hearts of many during the playoffs.
Elite athlete, incredible character and a great family man.
It truly doesn’t get much better than that, and for all of his accomplishments over the past year, Curry was recognized on Wednesday during the ESPYs, winning the Best NBA Player Award and perhaps on a more prestigious level, the Best Male Athlete Award.
After receiving the awards, Curry had this to say:
Man what?? Thanks 2 everyone who voted. Amazing honor. S/o to @KingJames @AaronRodgers12 @JJWatt that’s some incredible company! #ESPYAwards

One thing he and his teammates weren’t able to win was the Best Team Award, which went to the U.S. Womens national soccer team. While congratulatory of the winners’ accomplishments, Curry left no doubt about who he really thought deserved the award the most:
Not full squad but dang close. Congrats to the The U.S. Women’s Soccer team but #dubnation knows how… https://t.co/G8pJE7owXo
