There are 11 ballgames on Monday, although the first half of the Red Sox at Angels doubleheader is off the board in DFS action at DraftKings. 10-game contests close at 7:05 Eastern, with Turbo (8:10; 2 games) and Late (9:40; 3 games) offerings for those who prefer small player pools.
The best pitching matchup sees the Dark Knight, Matt Harvey $11100 taking on Gio Gonzalez $8100 in DC. The Nationals were shut out yesterday by Zack Greinke while the Mets played an exhausting 18 innings in St. Louis. I’m leaning to Gio in a low-scoring duel. In the nightcap of the twin bill, rookie lefty Andrew Heaney $8400 is a good bet to stay unbeaten against knuckleballer Steven Wright $4000.

New to DK? Your first deposit earns a FREE entry into the gigantic $300K Moonshot, with 25,930 guaranteed cash prizes — $100,000 for first — and a maximum of 115,000 teams. There’s no better time to give daily fantasy a try. If you already have an account, entries are just $3 each and you can submit up to 200 different lineups.
Among other SP, Matt Wisler $7900 should last longer than Brandon Beachy $7100 and at their relative prices, Yordano Ventura $5900 is playable against A.J. Burnett $9900.
For hitting, a glance at the over/under lines highlights the Rangers and Rockies at Coors Field (with “scattered thunderstorms” forecast) and the Mariners visiting Detroit. My hunch for a slugfest is the Cubs in Cincinnati.
We have been touting John Jaso $3700 at catcher against all RH pitchers, but the Rays are in a National League park with no DH. Buster Posey $4000 is tempting and rookie C/OF Kyle Schwarber $3400 is a slugger if he gets the start.
At 1B, mighty Paul Goldschmidt $5900 deserves that lofty salary and Anthony Rizzo $5100 has a favorable matchup. Posey is eligible at first and C.J. Cron $3100 is a potential bargain.
All-star 2B/3B D.J. LeMahieu $4100 is a decent choice at second, though 2B/3B Matt Duffy $3400 might be better value. While it’s been a terrible year so far for Robinson Cano $3600, those two homers on Saturday at Yankee Stadium could indicate better things.
Nolan Arenado $5500 is the standout 3B if money is no object. LeMahieu or Duffy would be a reasonable compromise but I’m still backing Adrian Beltre $4300 for an overdue power surge.
At SS, Troy Tulowitzki $5200 could be involved in more than one rally. Eugenio Suarez $3300 has surprised with an .852 OPS since replacing the injured Zach Cozart and 3B/SS Jung Ho Kang $3300 is adapting well as an everyday player.
Young superstars Mike Trout $5600 and Bryce Harper $5700 top the outfield pay scale, with usable options in every price range. J.D. Martinez $4800 and Yoenis Cespedes $4300 face a less-than-overpowering southpaw, and Matt Kemp $4000 — awesome in the second half of 2014 — is heating up with the weather. Love the price on Christian Yelich $3700 in a hitter’s park against a homer-prone righty. Chris Coghlan $3200 is worth including if you are bargain-hunting or stacking Cubbies.
