Quincy Acy showed glimpses of what he could do with the Sacramento Kings two seasons ago (actually did a little more with the depleted New York Knicks last season), and he will have a chance to do more of the same after coming to terms with the team again on Monday.
Shams Charania of RealGM reported the following:
Free agent forward Quincy Acy has reached agreement on a two-year deal with the Sacramento Kings, league sources told RealGM.
Acy’s deal to return to the Kings includes a player option on the second season.
A three-year NBA veteran, Acy averaged 5.9 points and 4.4 rebounds for the New York Knicks a year ago. He’ll give Sacramento additional floor-spacing and depth in the frontcourt.
Acy may not be the most consistent player out there, but he’s one of those players you watch and catch yourself saying “everyone can use a guy like that”.
In other words, a potential glue guy.
He can surprise you at times from the perimeter, can sometimes do this to you, and will usually give it everything he has on the defensive end of the floor. One player who is more than happy to have him back on the team is the most important name on the Kings roster: DeMarcus Cousins. Here is the center’s public support of the return of Acy:
Franchise back!!!! @QuincyAcy welcome home! 👑🏀
