Congratulations if you used Shin-Soo Choo $3800 last night. The veteran hit for the cycle, scored three times, added 3 RBI and stole a base — good for a whopping 43 PTS at DraftKings. Rookie catcher Kyle Schwarber $4000 was our big gun on a profitable evening, going 4-for-7 with two clutch homers (40 PTS) at the low, low price of $3200.
If you’re playing DFS baseball on Wednesday, All-Day (15 games) and Early (7 games) leagues close soon, at 12:10 Eastern — don’t get shut out. Then there are Turbo contests (3 games; 3:10) and Evening play (8 games; 7:05.) A second Turbo (3 games; 8:10) and Late (3 games; 9:40) provide even more opportunities to win.
It’s a tossup between Noah Syndergaard $10400 and Jordan Zimmermann $8700 as the top SP in Early contests; couple your choice with Kyle Hendricks $7800 or Cody Anderson $8000.

In today’s sample lineup and Short List, we’re focused on the most lucrative events at 7:05 and keying on Jose Fernandez $10000, whose so-called manager pinch-hit for him in the seventh after just 70 pitches on Friday. Sonny Gray $10700 and Lance Lynn $9900 are the other top-priced arms.
To save a bit more for hitting, C.J. Wilson $8500 or Mike Montgomery $7800 is a reasonable choice as the second SP. A bit riskier and cheaper, Wade Miley $6400 might outlast Collin McHugh $8000.
There are a few apparent mismatches. Oakland RH batters can feast on Felix Doubront $4800, the Angels should get to Mike Pelfrey $4400 and we expect both teams to score early and often in New York as less-than-stellarright-handers Ivan Nova $5500 and Kevin Gausman $4000 take the mound.
Using Montgomery instead of Gray saves $2900 and improves the batting order. Brian McCann $3900 is my top choice at C, with Josh Phegley $3400 always worth respect against LHP and Yadier Molina $3100 a tempting price vs. John Danks $5600.
Take your pick at 1B between Albert Pujols $4500 and Mark Teixeira $4400, or go thrifty with Billy Butler $3700 as the A’s try to even that series.
Although Jose Altuve $4300 is solid value at 2B, the suddenly hot Robinson Cano $3400 is even better bang for the buck, costing $500 less than he did on Tuesday (3-for-4, 2 R, 1 RBI.)
Josh Donaldson $5000 and Brett Lawrie $3600 were traded for each other and the hyper-intense third basemen are extra-motivated against their former teams. Manny Machado $4900 is another excellent selection.
Carlos Correa $4700 is the best shortstop if you can afford him. For a few dollars less, Alcides Escobar $4000 can contribute and I’m on rookie 3B/SS Jung Ho Kang $3600, who has really stepped up his game as an everyday player since two Pirates infielders went down with injuries.
Mike Trout $5700 is human after all, missing last night’s game with a sore heel. I prefer teammate Kole Calhoun $4100 tonight as my bargain OF, with two of J.D. Martinez $4900, Brett Gardner $4800, Andrew McCutchen $4800 and Adam Jones $4500. Nobody stands out as an ultra-cheap longshot play but Melky Cabrera $3000 is playable and 1B/OF Chris Parmelee $2000 is worth more than that if he starts.
