It’s hard to believe that had never happened before in MLB. All 15 home teams won; the unlikely parlay had odds of more than 3,000/1. Today, there are five afternoon ballgames starting at 3:40 Eastern, along with Early (5 games) and All-Day play at DraftKings.
Evening contests (7:05; 10 games) feature some spectacular pitching options. You can also use Clayton Kershaw $14200 in Late action (8:05; 6 games) — each starting time is a separate opportunity to win.
Pennant races make certain games more critical at this time of year. Gerrit Cole $10900 vs. Michael Wacha $10100 is a divisional battle between two excellent teams. Jordan Zimmermann $8000 and the Nationals are getting desperate, as the Mets show no signs of slowing down and send Jacob DeGrom $11400 to the mound.
Rookies Eduardo Rodriguez $9900 and Aaron Nola $9600 are talented, although their salaries have finally caught up to their value. I give Chase Anderson $7400 a big shot to beat Nola, as the Diamondbacks have scored 26 runs the last two nights. There isn’t a low-cost, high-upside SP to recommend with confidence; Daniel Norris $5100 has been inconsistent but on his best day, the 22-year-old lefty — acquired for David Price — has terrific stuff.

New to DK? Your first deposit earns a FREE entry into the $130K Moonshot — the winner gets $10,000 and 10,270 teams out of a maximum 49,831 earn cash. All prize money is guaranteed even if it doesn’t fill. It’s normally a $3 buy-in, and multiple teams are allowed. Enter by 7:07; you can make lineup changes until each player’s game begins.
We won some money with Aaron Brooks $6500 last time, but that was at home, not in Toronto. The Jays let us down last night by winning “only” 4-2; their 1-2-3 hitters are actually the heart of the order. Tonight I’m expecting the Rangers, angry at a 3-2 loss, to tee off on Mike Pelfrey $4300 and perhaps the Twins will respond against Nick Martinez $5500.
If you’re stacking that game, Kurt Suzuki $2700 is inexpensive but Bobby Wilson $2000 might be the better play if he starts. Welington Castillo $3800 was rested last night after slugging .798 with 5 HR in a 10-game span. The Cubs can play Kyle Schwarber $4500 in LF and Miguel Montero $2900 at C; the latter has three games under his belt since a thumb injury and loves hitting vs. Matt Garza $5700
I’m trying to use five or six Rangers in most lineups. You can’t start Prince Fielder $4800 and Mitch Moreland $4400, as both are eligible only at 1B. Last night, 1B/OF Michael Cuddyer $3100 returned from the DL (knee) with two hits and a surprise SB. If he stays in the lineup, that’s a tempting price.
Rougned Odor $4200 is worth considering at 2B, but Robinson Cano $3800 went 3-for-4 in last night’s extra-inning win and has a pretty good matchup again this afternoon.
Adrian Beltre $4000 is part of our Rangers stack. The amazing Josh Donaldson $6100 is simply too expensive; 2B/3B Jedd Gyorko $2500 may be of interest to bargain hunters.
At SS, Carlos Correa $5000 is the choice if money’s no object. However, Elvis Andrus $3600 homered last night, fits the strategy and is well worth that salary.
Our Tuesday OF scored 59 PTS — A.J. Pollock $4900 and David Peralta $4200 are unconscious and could be used again, though Jose Bautista $5800 is a bit too costly tonight. The probable Texas starters Shin-Soo Choo $4400, Delino DeShields $4100 and Josh Hamilton $3800 are all reasonably priced; I’m using at least two. The Cubs have won five straight and Jorge Soler $3600 has a 10-game hit streak.
