In honor of Reggie Miller’s 50th birthday, here are 10 things you may not know about him:
**Miller never led the NBA in three-point field goal attempts for a single-season. There were 13 times he finished in the top 10, but he never had the most.
**He never led the NBA in three-point percentage either, and was in the top 5 only once. In 1993-94, he finished third.
**Miller shot better than 40% on three-pointers in 10 seasons. The only player with more is Steve Nash (13 seasons).
**He led the league in free throw shooting 5 times (3rd most – Bill Sharman, Rick Barry). There were 10 seasons in which he was in the top 5, and he ranks 10th all-time in free throw percentage (88.8%).
**He is one is the premier offensive players ever. His career offensive rating is second all-time (Chris Paul) and his career offensive win shares rank 7th all-time.
**Miller was enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2012, joining his sister Cheryl, who was enshrined in 1995. The Millers are the only siblings inducted in the Basketball Hall of Fame.
**Miller played all 18 of his seasons with the Pacers. The only Basketball Hall of Famer to play more seasons with 1 team is John Stockton (19 seasons).
**The Pacers made the playoffs 15 times in Miller’s 18 seasons. Prior to his arrival, Indiana had made 2 playoff appearances in 11 NBA seasons.
**Miller had 5 All-Star selections, but was an All-Star in consecutive seasons only once.
**Miller has a solid argument for best shooter ever. He led the NBA in true shooting percentage twice and his career true shooting percentage (61.4%) is 6th all-time, behind 5 inside players. Others frequently mentioned – Steve Nash (60.5), Stephen Curry (60.2%) and Kevin Durant (60.1%) – rank in the top 20 all-time, but behind Miller.
