Wednesday’s 15 MLB games begin at 1:08 Eastern, with Early (2 games) and All-Day action at DraftKings. There are also Turbo contests (2:10; 6 games) before the evening pools (our focus) close at 7:05. Take advantage of even more DFS opportunities in Late (8:40; 4 games) and Later (10:05; 3 games) contests, where Zack Greinke $13200 is the headliner.
The Dodgers’ co-ace is not the only top SP in our sights; Max Scherzer $12400 is always a target. At a lower salary, Marcus Stroman $8500 is a good bet to outpitch Ivan Nova $4900 in the rubber match of a huge AL East series.
In a game that doesn’t mean much, Jake Peavy $8900 and Andrew Cashner $6900 might trade zeroes. The latter, disappointing all season, was better in his latest.
Plays of the Day
The $200K Moonshot is a $3 buy-in (FREE to new depositors at DK) that pays the top 16,300 finishers from up to 76,666 teams, with multiple entries permitted. First place wins $15,000. Enter by 7:05; lineup changes are allowed until each player’s game begins.
If you’re bargain-hunting, consider Brandon Finnegan $6000, stretched out to go more than 5 IP tonight, or Adam Conley $6100, who was brilliant in beating the Mets a week ago.
C/OF Kyle Schwarber $4600 reached base three times last night. Francisco Cervelli $3700 might be due for a rest and John Jaso $2700 is a low-cost option.
1B Anthony Rizzo $5600 is a stud, but I expect the Jays to attack and Edwin Encarnacion $5100 to convert some RBI chances. Mike Napoli $3100 is brutal in LF but can still hit southpaws.
Dustin Pedroia $4400 has been on fire since coming off the DL, rested last night and can resume hitting line drives. Robinson Cano $3600 blasted two more homers last night; that price will go way up tomorrow.
Stick with Kris Bryant $5100 at 3B, or try the Jays angle with Josh Donaldson $5000. Ultra-cheap 3B/SS Miguel Rojas $2000 is playing every day for the Marlins, and kept a 7-game hit streak alive with his first HR.
Not sure SS Corey Seager $5500 is worth the money. It’s a good position to save with someone like Rojas or Jordy Mercer $2700, who has scored 31 PTS in the first two games of this series.
Jose Bautista $5100 is a must-start in my strategy, with Starling Marte $4800 too hot to ignore. The Rockies have walked Andrew McCutchen $5400 five times in two games, so I’m going with Dexter Fowler $4400 in the third OF spot. If you need to scrimp here, Kevin Pillar $3300 had a fantastic Tuesday (34 PTS) and Corey Dickerson $3200 is due to break out, while unheralded3B/OF Adonis Garcia $2800 keeps contributing.
