It’s no secret that Stephen Curry has come a long way since being drafted by the Golden State Warriors in the 2009 NBA Draft and what was said about him by scouts before entering the league.
When you look at that draft, it’s clear that Curry and James Harden should have went No. 1 and No. 2 in no particular order (of course, you can also make the case that Blake Griffin was drafted right where he belongs). Harden actually went No. 3 overall so you can’t complain much there, but Curry dropped to the 7th overall pick, thanks in large part to some of the doubts those scouting reports contained: he’s too slight, lacks a true position, doesn’t finish well around the rim, can’t defend, etc.
Six seasons later, Curry won the league’s MVP award and a ring, making all the negative predictions about his abilities as a player about as silly as David Kahn passing on him twice in the draft. To put those doubters on total blast (and to make the point that you can always use doubting words from others as motivating factors), the following commercial was released on Tuesday:
Philadelphia 76ers guard Pierre Jackson appreciated the ad and had this to say:

I was in a regrettable mood when Curry was drafted just before the Knicks pick. I always wondered why the Knicks GM did not trade up for Curry instead of going for the center that never was. Think about what the Knicks would have been if they had picked Curry and then traded for MELO?
Retrospectively, the Knicks with their abundance of un-knowledgeable GM’s would have traded Curry for some “talented” failure only to regret that decision later.
