It’s almost October, which means that we’re only one week away from the NBA preseason kicking off on October 2. As we’ve said before, the preseason is an excellent time to check out up and coming players in the NFL and see some of your favorite teams for significantly cheaper than a regular season game. Preseason is definitely the way to go if you’re looking for cheap NBA tickets, but some games are better deals than others. Here are four of the best deals in the NBA preseason.
Cleveland Cavaliers @ Philadelphia 76ers, October 8
LeBron James is bar none one of the hottest names in basketball and sports in general, and when he rejoined the Cleveland Cavaliers after years in Miami, Cavs ticket prices shot through the roof. Right now, Cavaliers tickets average $127, but if you’re looking to pay a bit less, you can get in the door of this preseason game in Philadelphia for just $11.
Maccabi Haifa BC @ L.A. Lakers, October 11
The Lakers are one of the most expensive teams in the NBA, but they have the lowest-priced tickets on this list, which is great if you’re a Lakers fan looking to see your favorite team on the cheap. On October 11, the Lakers will face off against the Israeli Maccabi Haifa Basketball Club, one branch of the well-known Maccabi franchise. It’s worth noting that Maccabi Haifa has never beaten an NBA team, so if you hate to make it all the way out to STAPLES Center just to see the Lakers lose, this is the game for you. You can get in for just $10.
Philadelphia 76ers @ New York Knicks, October 12
Last season, the New York Knicks had the most expensive tickets in the NBA, so if you want to see them without breaking the bank, this game against the Philadelphia 76ers (we’re starting to see a pattern here, 76ers…) is their cheapest game this season for only $14.
Portland Trail Blazers @ L.A. Lakers, October 19
Another Lakers game, but trust us, it’s worth it. Outside of the aforementioned Maccabi Haifa game, it tends to cost around $50 just to get in the door of a preseason Lakers game. But if you live in L.A. and you’re looking to hit up the STAPLES Center before the regular season starts, this matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers will only set you back $11.
