Atlanta Hawks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
Quicken Loans Arena (Cleveland, OH)
November 21, 2015
The Atlanta Hawks will take on the Cleveland Cavaliers for this first time since the Cavaliers took down the Hawks in the fourth game of the Eastern Conference Finals last season. The Hawks embarrassingly got swept by the Cavaliers last season in the playoffs. This season, both squads are out on a mission to be the best team in the NBA. Last season, the Atlanta Hawks ended the regular season with a 60-22 record and the top spot in the East heading into the playoffs. Led by the spectacular shooting of Kyle Korver and the rough play in the paint by Hawks players Al Horford, Paul Millsap, and DeMarre Carroll, Atlanta was able to make it past the Brooklyn Nets and Washington Wizards. But in the Eastern Conference Finals is when they faced a monster in the Cleveland Cavaliers that they couldn’t just take down. The Cavaliers led by LeBron James had been plagued with injuries throughout the playoffs as the majority of their roster was banged up and they lost two key starters in Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving. But even without key players, the fairly new Cleveland Cavaliers team defeated the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls in the opening rounds to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals. The quality play of LeBron James and company was too much for the Hawks to handle as the Cavs knocked the Hawks out of the playoffs. The story ended there for Atlanta but wasn’t finished for Cleveland. In the NBA Finals, the Cavaliers faced the Golden State Warriors. With sharp shooting from Stephen Curry and solid defense from players like Klay Thompson, Harrison Barnes, and Andre Igualda, the Cavaliers couldn’t find the solution and fell 4 games to 2. The Hawks definitely haven’t forgotten how their season last year and will look to take down the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers are focused on the championship and will do whatever it takes to make it there and go through anyone who stands in their way. This great Eastern Conference matchup won’t be one to miss out on and could be a preview of a playoff matchup. Milwaukee Bucks vs. Indiana Pacers
Bankers Life Fieldhouse
November 21, 2015
Last year’s season was an unexpected one for both the Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers. The Milwaukee Bucks to everyone’s surprise made it into the playoffs with the 6th seed in the East, but eventually lost to the Chicago Bulls in the first round. But it was positive ground for the Bucks as they’ve been a team that’s disregarded in the NBA for the past few seasons. This young Bucks team features talented and young players that will continue to get better each season and could turn the Bucks into a power in the Eastern Conference. Last year’s first round pick Jabari Parker had a productive season before going down to injury is back this season and will look to help his team get a spot in the playoffs. Parker should have a lot of help now that his young teammates have a year of experience under their belts and could be a very dangerous team in the East. Some of the great Bucks players include Giannis Antetokounmpo, Greg Monroe, Michael Carter-Williams, and Khris Middleton. The Pacers on the other hand struggled throughout the season and didn’t qualify for the playoffs. Indiana was without its superstar player, Paul George, as he went down to injury early in the season. Without Paul George out on the floor, the Pacers couldn’t seem to find their groove offensively throughout the season and it showed in their mediocre 38-44 record. But this season, the Bucks and Pacers could be two of the best teams in the East. The Bucks are young and quick team that could be quietly be turning into one of the best teams in the East. And with Paul George back on the floor, the Pacers may also be one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference that has the ability to compete for the Eastern Conference title. These two teams feature great players with a lot of skill and talent that will make it a great matchup for fans to attend. On Rukkus, prices to the Bucks vs. Pacers matchup are as low as $11. Dallas Mavericks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
Chesapeake Energy Arena (Oklahoma City, OK)
November 22, 2015
The Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks are two very talented teams in the Western Conference that have all star players on their roster. Come postseason time, we usually find these two teams in the race for the NBA Finals, but that wasn’t the story for both teams last season. The Oklahoma City Thunder had an injury plagued season last year that found all NBA player, Kevin Durant, out for the majority of the season. This left a huge hole in the Thunder team as their offensive spark mainly came from all star point guard Russell Westbrook during the time that Durant was out. The Thunder to everyone’s surprise didn’t qualify for the playoffs and were left watching the NBA playoffs at home. The Mavericks on the other hand made it into the playoffs last season with the 7 seed in the Western Conference. The Mavericks would go on to lose in the first round of the playoffs to the Houston Rockets. Not the ideal situation for two talented teams like the Thunder and Mavericks, but both will look to turn it around this year. The Thunder with a healthy Kevin Durant this year could be a favorite in the tough Western Conference as long as Durant stays healthy. The Mavericks led by Dirk Nowitzki and Chandler Parsons will look to turn things around and go deeper into the playoffs this season. The aging Mavericks could potentially be running out of time as their players continue to get older and the competition in the Western Conference gets better each season. The Thunder may also be on the edge as Kevin Durant is again hurt early in this season and could actually lose Durant at the end of the season to free agency. These two NBA teams are built to win right now and will look to do so no matter who is on the court. Don’t miss the out on the opportunity to see this great Western Conference live. On Rukkus, you’ll get the cheapest prices available for Mavericks vs. Thunder tickets, as prices start as low as $23. Let Rukkus get you to the game at the cheapest out there so check us out today!
