There’s another matinee, with players from Phoenix and Memphis (3:30 EST) available only in All-Day contests at DraftKings. Our focus is the Guaranteed Prize Pools that close at 6:00 and span the other four NBA games.
Stephen Curry $10700, Klay Thompson $6300 and Draymond Green $8000 were fully extended in Toronto to remain unbeaten; how well they must play in this road back-to-back is up to the Nets. Green can neutralize Brook Lopez $7600 or Thaddeus Young $6900, not both. With Andrew Bogut $4500 (back) questionable, Festus Ezeli $4300 will be important and Marreese Speights $3200 could surprise.
Plays of the Day
The All-Day $50K Sharpshooter is a mere $3 buy-in (FREE with your first deposit) that pays the top 3,840 finishers from up to 19,158 teams. First place wins $4,000. The deadline is 3:30; enter before it fills and you can make lineup changes until each player’s game begins — last-minute adjustments to breaking news can pay off.
Russell Westbrook $10400 and Kevin Durant $10200 are back home and fully rested. The Kings lost a tough one in Houston last night and DeMarcus Cousins $10800 is 8-33 over his last two. Omri Casspi $4700, Kosta Koufos $4700 and Darren Collison $4600 remain DFS bargains, while Ben McLemore $3500 went off (19 PTS, 9 REB, 3 STL) in 41 minutes against the Rockets to win his owners a lot of money. The O/U is 220 and the Thunder are 11-point favorites; the only risk is Russ and KD not being needed much in the second half.
John Wall $8700 has the edge over Deron Williams $6600 and running mate Bradley Beal $7200, the best SG on the board, will test Wesley Matthews $4800. The Wizards are extremely thin up front — Jared Dudley $4200 has been logging big minutes at the 4 — so Dirk Nowitzki $6900 and Zaza Pachulia $6300 are excellent plays. Dwight Powell $4300 backs up both; he’s efficient off the bench at a decent price.
Enjoying a 3-0 home stand, the Pistons should toy with the Lakers. First of all, it’s revenge for a drubbing in L.A. last month, 24 hours after Detroit had nearly upset the Clippers. Andre Drummond $9300 can do whatever he wants. Reggie Jackson $7700 is a compromise PG if you can’t afford the super-duper-stars. Although Marcus Morris $6400 had a 24-14 grudge game against the Suns then scored 23 vs. Milwaukee, his salary is rising. Ersan Ilyasova $4600 is playable and Stanley Johnson $4200 might get extra run.
It’s tempting to stack the OKC game. You can use the Short List (below) to produce many 8-man combinations with potential. Surrounding Westbrook and Durant with four cheap Kings, Lopez and Powell hits the $50K salary cap on the button. The names in bold are in my sample lineup (above left) which avoids all the 5-digit salaries and strives for balance.
