After sitting out at least a quarter of the season for the past two years due to knee issues, Dwyane Wade finally appears to be healthy and has missed just one game through the first 35 games.
At 33 years of age, Wade should be showing signs of slowing down and he has in some ways. The guard is shooting just 46.6 percent from the field – the lowest mark since his rookie season – and is scoring nearly three points less than he did last season. He’s also aging like fine wine in other ways, shooting 79.1 percent from the free throw line (a big improvement compared to the last three years) and averaging just 2.4 turnovers to help increase his overall level of efficiency.
Overall, it’s been an impressive year for Wade and the Miami Heat, who own the third best record in the East with a 22-14 mark.
Of course, he’s no longer “The Flash” as he once was. He’s also far from done, which is what many thought the direction of his career was headed towards due to his recurring knee issues. With two tweets from his fans, Wade summarized the state of his career at this particular time:
