A 10-game NBA Wednesday gives daily fantasy players a multitude of choices at every position. Among elite PG, Russell Westbrook $10700, Stephen Curry $10600, John Wall $9600, Damian Lillard $9200 and Chris Paul $9100 are all in excellent form.
DeMarcus Cousins $10500 vs. Anthony Davis $10400 would be a fantastic battle, but Davis (back) was unable to play last night as the Pelicans lost to the Lakers. Whether or not he returns, Sacramento is well rested and at home. Rajon Rondo $8600 and Rudy Gay $6900 are reasonably priced, Omri Casspi $6500 (back) should return after missing four games, and Darren Collison $5400 is solid value. Tyreke Evans $8200 presumably wants to play well against his former team.
There’s a report that Draymond Green $10000, Andre Iguodala $5000 and Shaun Livingston $4000 will be rested tonight, tomorrow or both. The Warriors can win without them, if Curry and Klay Thompson $8200 handle most of the scoring. Harrison Barnes $5400 looks 100% recovered, Andrew Bogut $4700 should get a few extra minutes and bench guys like Jason Thompson $3000 may surprise. Danilo Gallinari $7100 and new father Kenneth Faried $6000 are playable for Denver.
Plays of the Day
The $275K Sharpshooter is only a $3 buy-in (FREE with your initial deposit at DraftKings) where the top 21,185 finishers (from up to 105,417 teams) win cash. First place is worth $20,000. Enter before 7:00 EST; you can make lineup changes until each player’s game begins.
Carmelo Anthony $8500 (ankle) is questionable and Derrick Williams $3600 took advantage of his absence in the second half, finishing with a double-double (15 & 10) in 29 minutes. Brook Lopez $7600 and Robin Lopez $5000 will renew their battle, leaving Thaddeus Young $7200 on Kristaps Porzingis $7000, who scored 26 points in 27 minutes to help beat Boston. Jose Calderon $4100 went scoreless in 30 minutes while Jerian Grant $3100 was brilliant off the bench — 16 points and eight assists in 23 minutes.
While Blake Griffin (quad) recovers, CP3 and DeAndre Jordan $8000 have led the Clippers to nine wins in a row, with J.J. Redick $5300 and Jamal Crawford $4100 taking turns getting hot. Jordan is battling the flu and Hassan Whiteside $7000 (knee) is questionable, so Chris Bosh $7900 may have a big night.
Westbrook and Kevin Durant $9800 did just enough to win on the road last night, while the Mavericks lost a tough one to Cleveland in overtime. Although KD is easily the best at his position, we can’t afford five superstars on a $50K salary cap.
James Harden $9700 scored “only” 25 last night as four other Rockets reached double digits, including a big outburst from Terrence Jones $4300. Back from suspension, Ty Lawson $3900 will be fresh. They should win a fifth straight, though the Timberwolves have potential DFS bargains like Shabazz Muhammad $4000 and Zach LaVine $4800.
Marcin Gortat (knee) and Kris Humphries (knee) are out, but Drew Gooden $3800 and Nene Hilario $4100 returned from injuries just in time to lead the Wizards to an upset in Chicago on Monday. Both are worth considering again.
Al Horford $7200 has been superb lately and can keep it going against the Hornets. He’s my top selection at C, though Rudy Gobert $6100 is on the verge of a dominant game. Or you can punt — Gorgui Dieng $3900 blocked six shots last night and could be the best bang for the buck, especially if he starts.
Today’s sample lineup is stars-and-scrubs, with four players under $4000 allowing me to splurge at the other four spots. Breaking news is always important; be sure to double-check who’s not in uniform if you’re keying on the Warriors.
