Hope you had a good Thursday night at DraftKings and won the extra $3 for beating Chris Sheridan, who posted a respectable 279.5 points to finish in the money.
Friday’s ten-game NBA slate is unusual because the highest scores may come early in the evening. The games in the West feature defense for a change.
John Wall $9700 scored 41 on Wednesday, while the 76ers were destroyed by Atlanta. Ish Smith $7100 and Robert Covington $6200 should bounce back, while Nik Stauskas $4000 may be heating up. The Wizards need to turn things around after losing five of six. Marcin Gortat $6800 and Bradley Beal $6100 are the logical plays.

The $225K Sharpshooter is only a $3 buy-in (FREE with your initial deposit at DraftKings) where the top 17,435 finishers (from up to 86,250 teams) win cash. First place earns $15,000. Deadline is 7:00 EST; enter before it fills. You can make unlimited lineup changes until each player’s game begins.
DeMarcus Cousins $11300 leads the Kings into Brooklyn. With Rajon Rondo $8200 (toe) not 100%, Darren Collison $4600 scored 19 points in 30 minutes on Wednesday and Marco Belinelli $4500 added 18 in his second solid game as a starter. Brook Lopez $7700 and Thaddeus Young $6200 are usually playable for the Nets.
The Celtics use a deep rotation, making it difficult to predict individual heroes. Out of nowhere, Tyler Zeller $3100 has been effective in two straight, and Evan Turner $5100 continues to pay his way in DFS. LeBron James $9600 and Kyrie Irving $6800 are both reasonably priced; Kevin Love $7800 has also been playing well since the coaching change.
Chris Paul $9500 and DeAndre Jordan $7900 need a bit more help from their teammates to avoid another upset. Wesley Johnson $4200 and Jamal Crawford $4800 are possibilities, while J.J. Redick $4900 can only improve on a 1-for-9 outing. For the Magic, Victor Oladipo $6900 is on fire, Nikola Vucevic $7300 is a model of consistency and Tobias Harris $5800 has a good matchup. Before that off-night (1-for-10) in Oklahoma City, Aaron Gordon $5600 had two straight huge double-doubles.
With Jeremy Lin $5800 starting in place of Kemba Walker $8300 (knee) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist $5200 notching a second straight double-double, the Hornets shocked Cleveland on Wednesday. Nicolas Batum $6300 (toe) still isn’t 100%, so Marvin Williams $5300 has been shooting more. For Miami, Hassan Whiteside $7400 played just 17 minutes off the bench after missing six games but scored 34.3 fantasy points with a near double-double and five blocks.
If Jimmy Butler $8600 (knee) sits out again, E’Twaun Moore $4200 will have another opportunity. Moore scored a career-high 24 in 38 minutes on Wednesday to lead a balanced Bulls attack. With Pau Gasol $8700 (hand) questionable, Taj Gibson $5800 is worth considering.
The Jazz are on a four-game win streak thanks to Derrick Favors $7000, who had a double-double with six blocks on Wednesday. Rudy Gobert $6700 looks even better since Favors returned, Gordon Hayward $7400 is getting more open looks and Raul Neto $3400 has been profitable to own for three straight games.
For once, the Spurs starters dominated Wednesday’s win, with LaMarcus Aldridge $7100 dropping a season-high 36 and Kawhi Leonard $7800 adding 26 points. David West $4300 had a good night and a long-overdue Danny Green $4600 is showing signs of life. Dallas has lost two straight and have scored 100 just once in six games.
