The game of the year happened Saturday on ABC when Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors visited Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
This one had it all with two superstars going at it with the potential to meet in the playoffs, drama inside the Warriors’ locker room at half time with Draymond Green, an injury to Curry and one of the greatest performances in the regular season that most could remember.
In a game that the Thunder led for most of the night, Curry came through in a way that no one has ever quite seen, and that’s after many questioned whether he would even return to the game after badly tweaking his ankle in the third quarter.
He did come back, and he was indescribable in leading the Warriors back into the game and eventually hitting an impossible game-winner in overtime:
Curry ended the game with 46 points on 14-of-26 shooting from the field, including a record-tying 12-of-16 from the 3-point line.
Kevin Durant was also incredible with 37 points, 12 rebounds and five assists before fouling out early in overtime.
It was Curry’s show, though, and his impossible shot sent twitter into a frenzy. Even LeBron James, who hadn’t reacted to any of Curry’s games in the last couple of years on twitter, couldn’t help himself after this one. Here are all the reactions from around the league:
