Kyle Lowry enjoyed his 30th birthday on Friday, but the results on the court against the Houston Rockets was anything but pleasant.
Lowry, who has had a career year after dedicating last summer to reshaping his body and diet, scored 15 points on four-of-19 shooting from the field (a season-worst when taking at least 13 shots in a game) and shot 4-of-9 from the free throw line. To make matters worse, the point guard got into it with an official with little time remaining in the game and ended up getting ejected.
Some birthday gift.
The Toronto Raptors are looking to catch up in the standings against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the East for homecourt advantage in the playoffs, but the 112-109 loss to the Rockets set them back 2 1/2 games.
It was a poor way to end the day, but Lowry was thankful for all the love he received regardless:
Birthday didn’t end how I wanted it but I want to thank all y’all ,my friends and family for the bday wishes !! I love all y’all real talk!!
