Once again we zero in on Sacramento for DFS purposes. The Kings aren’t very interested in defense and DeMarcus Cousins (suspension) won’t play tonight. The red-hot Hassan Whiteside $8700 was our top pick on Wednesday and although the Heat lost, his 18 points, 17 rebounds and seven blocks certainly helped fantasy owners in both daily and traditional formats.
John Wall $10300 is the highest-priced player on the board and his 10th-place Wizards can’t afford another loss. Markieff Morris $4900 — who will be pumped in his return to Phoenix — costs less than Marcin Gortat $6400, Bradley Beal $5800 and Otto Porter $5500, though are all capable of earning those salaries. The Suns are inexpensive if you like their chances.
Stephen Curry $10200 and the Warriors are determined to extend their NBA record home unbeaten streak to 55, but it’s their third game in four nights and Boston held him to 9-for-27 with eight turnovers back in December. Draymond Green $8100 and Harrison Barnes $4300 are strong plays.
$200,000 NBA Contest Free To New Users
The $200K Sharpshooter is only a $3 buy-in (FREE with your initial deposit at DraftKings) where the top 17,775 finishers (from up to 76,666 teams) win cash. First place earns $10,000. The deadline is 7:00 EDT; join before it fills and you can make lineup changes until each player’s game begins.
If you don’t pay for a premium PG, Rajon Rondo $7800 will play more minutes than Kyle Lowry $7900, whose sore shooting elbow led to a 4-for-19 on Wednesday. Kemba Walker $8000 wasn’t sharp against Ish Smith $6200 at the end of a four-game road trip. Rested and at home tonight, I like all the Hornets. New father J.J. Barea $5300 is playable until Deron Williams (abdomen) returns.
Nicolas Batum $7700 is fresh off a triple-double (19 PTS, 12 AST, 11 REB) against these Sixers. Dwyane Wade $7200, Rodney Hood $5200, Wesley Matthews $4900, Evan Fournier $4700 and Courtney Lee $4000 all worth considering at the deep SG spot.
At SF, it makes sense to pay up for LeBron James $9900 or Carmelo Anthony $8500. In a meaningless game, Melo might put on a show for the Garden fans. Marcus Morris $5300 has a good matchup if you’re loading up at other positions.
Green is the standout PF, Zach Randolph $6500 an excellent midrange play and Markieff a strong hunch bet. The best bang for the buck could be John Henson $3800, who has taken advantage of 23 minutes or more in three straight games.
Today’s sample lineup is built around Whiteside, who takes on Willie Cauley-Stein $4600 and Kosta Koufos $4100. The latter usually steps up when Boogie is out. Andre Drummond $7400 and Cody Zeller $4000 are also tempting at center.
Coming Soon: Baseball and The Masters
Major League Baseball begins on Sunday. You can already enter Monday’s $300K Moonshot, with over 23,000 cash prizes ($20K to first.) The $3 entry fee is waived for new signups. Closers don’t matter in DK hardball; just pick two pitchers and eight hitters within the $50K salary cap.
On April 7, you can become a millionaire for $20. The $4M Fantasy Golf Millionaire has a top prize of $1,000,000. Draft six golfers for $50K or less, who earn points throughout the Masters for birdies, eagles, overall finish and more. High score is worth a million; the other $3,000,000 in the prize pool will be paid out to over 48,000 winners.
