J.R. Smith has been known as a bit of a wild-card character during his tenure in the NBA, but the one thing he could always do through it all was the ability to shoot with plenty of range.
It’s probably even fair to say he’s underrated in some respects when it comes being recognized as a sharp shooter over the course of his career, if not scrutinized for his tendency to chuck away. Smith is currently 17th on career 3-pointers made with 1,665 with plenty left in the tank.
On Tuesday against the Milwaukee Bucks, the shooting guard set the record for most 3-pointers made in Cleveland Cavaliers history in a single season, surpassing the 192 mark set by Wesley Person in 1998. His accuracy this season hasn’t been shabby either, converting on 39.5 percent of his 6.6 attempts per game. After the contest, Smith took some time to thank his peers for congratulatory remarks:
