Forbes have recently updated their list for the World richest Athlete with MMA fight Floyd Mayweather dominating the list this year.
With NBA back to action this season, two of the most prolific figures in the NBA have also made the top ten list. We made up this list with the help of the data gathered by FootballPredictions.com.

- Floyd Mayweather:
The MMA boxer recently moved up to the first position recently after his most successive fight against rival Conor McGregor, the American moved up to claim his first spot back from footballer Lionel Messi, who dominated the spot last year.
According to reports, Mayweather earned $300 million from his last Lightweight fight against McGregor. The American boxer is now said to be earning $285 million.
- Lionel Messi:
Argentina footballer, who can be easily dubbed as “The Greatest Footballer of all time”, was reigning at the top spot last year briefly before Mayweather reclaim back the seat with his million dollar fight.
Messi, who currently plays for Spanish club Barcelona, helped his club win the La Liga title and the Copa del Rey last season which is something was expected according to several football tips. Messi currently earns $111 million.
- Cristiano Ronaldo
Third on the list with $108 million is Lionel Messi fiercest rival in football history Cristiano Ronaldo, who last summer completed a move from Real Madrid to Italian giants Juventus for a fee €100 million.
In his footballing career Ronaldo has won five Ballon d’Or pairing together with rival Lionel Messi (also have five). The Portuguese star is also reported to have other business outside of football which increases his revenue in a year.
- Conor McGregor
MMA boxer Conor McGregor would have moved up in rankings if he had defeated Floyd Mayweather several months back. The Irishman sits at the fourth position with a net worth of $99 million having two defeats in a row recently.
- Neymar
Brazilian star Neymar climbed up to the ranks following his last year summer move from Barcelona to French giants Paris Saint-Germain in fee reported to be worth £222 million. Neymar sits at the fifth position as one the highest paid athlete on Forbes list. The Brazilian earns $90 million.
- LeBron James
Basketball star LeBron James easily sits at the sixth position with an earnig of $85.5 million. LeBron skills with the ball have never been questioned.
The 33-year-old star opted to move to Los Angeles Lakers during the summer after cutting off his contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
- Roger Federer
Next on the list is Tennis star Roger Federer, who hails from Switzerland, has won 20 single grand slams.
Federer sits at the seventh position earning $77.2 million.
- Stephen Curry
American professional basketball player Stephen Curry is next on the earning a total of $76.9 million. Curry currently plys his trade with Golden State Warriors being arguably their best player.
- Matt Ryan playing as an American football player with an earning of $67.3 million
- Matthew Stafford currently earns $59.5 million.
