The Orlando Magic came into the season feeling pretty good about the possibility of being a playoff team after drafting Victor Oladipo with the second overall pick in the 2013 draft. With young players like Nikola Vucevic, Tobias Harris and Maurice Harkless all looking to improve from their unexpectedly-solid campaigns from a year ago, they very well could have been a dark horse team in the East – especially with the way things have turned out for the anemic conference.
Instead, it has become yet another lost season for the Magic with an 18-42 record as of Wednesday night. They will be better than the pathetic 20-62 record from last season, but that’s not much of a consolation prize.
The Magic had lost their previous 16 games away from home, and the last road victory came on Dec. 16 against the Chicago Bulls. Going against the Philadelphia 76ers – losers of 11 straight games – on Wednesday was the perfect cure to break their winless streak on the road for well over two months. After the 101-90 victory against a depleted 76ers team, Harkless was relieved to avoid another silent trip back home:
Feels good to finally get one on the road. Plane home not as quiet lol

Filling in for the injured Arron Afflalo, Harkless scored 13 points on five-of-14 shooting from the field.
